HIV
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is a virus that can lead to Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). HIV can remain dormant in the human body for years. Many people do not know they have HIV. People infected with other untreated STDs are two to five times more likely to acquire HIV when exposed to the virus through sexual contact. HIV is not curable but medications can help manage the progression of HIV disease.
